3 easy steps to $MART MONEY

We've harnessed the power of the American Institute of CPAs' ThisWayToCPA website's National Scholarship Search to make it easier to apply for an LCPA scholarship with our new online platform.

Step One

Only current LCPA student members can qualify. If you're not a member, start by joining LCPA today. Joining is free and comes with lots of great benefits including scholarship opportunities, chances to network with other professionals, discounts on CPA Exam Review Courses, and more. The online app will ask for your LCPA ID number — that means your LCPA member number which you'll find when you log in to your LCPA member record.

Step Two

In addition to being an LCPA member, you'll have create an account with AICPA's ThisWayToCPA Community. What's great about the new platform is that once you set up your TW2CPA account, no matter which scholarship you apply for (and they're plenty), the main fields will automatically populate. Awesome – right? This means more opportunities to go for as many scholarships as you're eligible for. (Keep in mind that this account is different from your LCPA account — and you'll need both to apply.)

Step Three

Once you set up your TW2CPA account, here's where you'll find the links to our two LCPA Education Foundation scholarships:

  • Go to the ThisWayToCPA National Scholarship Search landing page (you can also find it from the left rail, Education drop down menu
  • In the State search drop down, select Louisiana and click "Merit Based"
  • Be sure to read all the instructions carefully – you can only apply for one, so find the one that best fits your situation.
  • Note the materials required (like a short essay, a resume, unofficial and official transcript, letters of recommendation). There are some restrictions, such as grade point average (at least 3.0 for accounting courses, 2.5 overall), LCPA student membership, etc. — check it out before you get started.
  • You can start the app, save it, and go back later to make changes or complete it. Just remember that once you hit that 'Submit' button, that's it, no additional changes can be made.
